Spirulina & Fatigue

Ohio State University researchers tested the hypothesis that Spirulina consumption increases the ability to resist mental and physical fatigue.

The researchers used aerobic exercises, mathematical tests, and administered only a 3 g/day dose of spirulina. produced a small, but a statistically significant increase in exercise output (Kcals consumed in 30 min exercise on a cross trainer machine).

A mathematical based mental & physical fatigue test showed improved performance starting 4 hours after the time of supplementation and up to eight weeks later.

Self-reported physical and mental fatigue was also improved hours after Spirulina implementation and was still visible after eight weeks. These results show that spirulina intake can affect fatigue in men.
