Spirulina and Malnutrition

Malnutrition remains a major cause of morbidity and is the most common worldwide cause of death in children who are less than five years of age.

A Pilot study aimed at tackling malnutrition children in the Congo chose Spirulina because it is easily digestible and contains a wide array of ingredients that are needed for a high-quality food supplement.

The study hypothesized that the administration of Spirulina at a dose of 10 g per day,
significantly improved their nutritional health and decreased the percentage of children with severe malnutrition by 350 percent.
